Home Learning

Information and Resources for Parents

If your child is ill we would not expect them to be completing Home Learning tasks, but if they are at home and feel well enough to learn we would encourage them to do so. Please keep you child’s class teacher up to date in the usual ways so they know how much work to provide for you. Completing as much Home Learning as your child is able to complete is vitally important for ensuring they maintain good progress and do not fall behind the rest of the class. Reading is a key element for success. Even if your child is too ill to perform other subjects, sharing and reading books together can really maintain their potential for success.

Your child’s class teacher will communicate home learning via Tapestry. These tasks will mirror those being taught in class and will ensure that gaps in learning are minimized due in the absence from school.

Please keep in touch with us and we look forward to welcoming your child back into school as soon as it is safe to do so.

On the rest of this page you will find links to many educational websites which feature age related learning tasks.  These are useful not just for learning whilst absent from school but also as additional learning resources for families to use at any time. We recommend looking  at BBC Bitesize and Oak Academy for a wide range of age appropriate resources.
